Adventures on our planet Earth.

We're off to see the wizard! To find the secret to the core of the universe. Ok, not really. Just escaping the trials and tribulations of the everyday grind, only to experience the trials and tribulations of a different grind.

The longest day of our lives...

22 hours of daylight, that is how long that we saw the sun today, yesterday ... and well tomorrow! We've lost a day in our journey here, but now we sit at our first internet cafe in Bangkok International Airport. It's 5:45am and we have just gotten some money and coffee. Not really sure what's next on the agenda. We can't wait to step foot out into Bangkok.

Our 11 hour flight gave us wonderful peaceful silence, and allowed us each to catch a few ZZzz's and watch two movies we hadn't seen, two full meals that were really quite nice, and some light reading.

Our first layover in Osaka, Japan was mostly uneventful. We wandered the mall inside the airport that rivaled the Battlefield mall. Ok, not really, but it was pretty big for an airport mall. We didn't buy anything on our first pass, assuming we'd come back through after a warm meal and a bit of rest. Resting on a plane for 11 hours, doesn't really feel like rest. Sore spots all over. Guinevere was feeling a bit crappy and really wanted to find a place to lay our head. Quick decision not to venture into Osaka and instead sleep. Suprising how comfy airport seats are when you are tired. Five hours drifted by and finally the sky began to fade. Darkness at last! Sounds morbid but really after 22 hours of sun it feels a bit like the twilight zone. It was much needed rest, so much so, that we missed getting back into the mall to do the shopping and eating. Oh well. We'll be better prepared for what lay ahead.

The big thing that we noticed in Osaka was the level of service. Desk agents and attentands were literally running all over the airport constantly trying to locate passengers. Anytime we required assistance they were there, sprinting off to try to find us an answer to our quandry! I found it amazing how many people could muster out at least a little English. How fortunate we Americans are to be able to travel the world with relative ease. I kept imagining being from another country and trying to navigate my way around America. Gook luck, right?! If you can't speak English (or spanish in some places) then you are SOL. Anyway, enough about that.

Well I suppose it's time to head out into the city, our time is running out on the computer we "rented". The sun is on the way up and we are feeling pretty good actually. Maybe it's the jet lag pills that we've been taking, or maybe our youth, but whatever it is let's see how long we can keep it up. Off to the adventures ahead. Love to all.
Joey and Guinevere
